Immune Response Flow Chart. The enzymes in the lysosomes digest the virus and pieces of the virus show up on the outside of the B cell. Cell-mediated immunity is a function of T lymphocytes, leading to the production of effector (killer) T cells, which have the ability to destroy antigen-bearing cells by direct toxicity, and of specific products called lymphokines that mediate cell interactions (macrophage, T cell, B cell) in the immune response.
B cells with virus acts as a signal to the T cells.
When germs, such as bacteria or viruses, invade the body, they attack and multiply.
This is a diagram I created to summarise the immune response, complete with friendly, loveable cartoon immune cells designed in an attempt to make what can be a very complicated and confusing subject seem a little less threatening. The Immune System—The Body's Defense Against Infection. Without it, the body would be unable to withstand attacks from bacteria, viruses, parasites, and more.
