Ark Kibble Rework Chart. The Kibble system was reworked with the ARK: Homestead update and is currently available on every platform excluding the Mobile and Nintendo Switch versions. Kibble are food items used to tame creatures more quickly and with higher affinity, allowing players to save time and end up with better stats on their tamed pet.

Found this on an official community post from a few weeks ago because I thought the same thing. Some info may be incorrect or subject to change. Most creatures prefer Kibble made from a specific creature's eggs, combined with Fiber, Mejoberries, water (using an item such as a Waterskin), and other ingredients (usually meat or jerky and a crop).

I'm reading a post on a SurvivetheArk thread that states the exact opposite.

Some info may be incorrect or subject to change. The only way I've found this works is if you use old kibble (for instance pulmonoscorpius kibble) to tame a Rex. The new kibble rework has been added to the game.
